Where is it Andalusia, Spain
What is it Torcal de Antequera is a spectacular Andalusian nature reserve known for its unusual landforms and karst landscapes
Main attractions A scenic drive up the mountain, through impressive rock formations, and with great views on the valley below. A number of extended walking routes which start near the visitor’s center offer an opportunity to enter the spectacular scenery by foot and walk through it, but basically the terrain is generally open so it is possible to it explore other areas as well.
Psychedelic Merit The karst rock foundations of Torcal have a spectacular outlandish quality. Walking Torcal is like walking on a completely alien and surrealist planet. The harsh weather conditions and the frequent mist make the place considerably less hospitable but add to torcal’s singular nature. You can spend the day here and feel as if you are walking inside a dream.
Comments Torcal is a bit tricky to get to. In order to get there, you will need to drive through the tiny village of Villanueva de la Concepción.Weather can be harsh, with scorching winds in the winter, and scorching sun in the summer. Spring and Autumn are generally the best seasons to visit. Be sure to bring some warm clothes, just in case, as it tends to get pretty cold up on the mountains.
